An Introduction to Hypnotherapy Training

By Paul Douglass D. Hyp. Adv. MIAPH Acc.

If you are thinking of training to become a hypnotherapist, then with so many different hypnotherapy training courses around, that it can sometimes be difficult to know exactly which one is going be the best one for you.

Having spoken to many hypnotherapists over the years about their training, I've found that the quality of hypnotherapy training varies tremendously.

Some of the most important things you need to take into account when choosing a hypnotherapy training course, include…

  • How you are going to fit the training into your lifestyle

  • The support you will receive from experienced therapists during, and after your training

  • How well the course will prepare you to enable you to go on to train to an advanced level later on

  • The qualification that the course will give you

  • Whether the course contents teach you everything you need to know to practice as a professional therapist

  • Whether the qualification will entitle you to join any professional organisations

  • The quality of support and backing provided by the professional organisation behind the course

  • Whether the course is written and presented in a way that will capture your interest, and make study interesting and absorbing

  • How much support you will get personally from the people that run the course while you train

While it’s true to say that there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of hypnotherapy training courses out there to choose from, surprisingly few of them offer the kind of backup and support that a student of hypnotherapy needs while training, and a newly qualified therapist needs whilst in practice.

Successful Hypnotherapy Training

The training course that I found that offers ALL of the requirements mentioned above, is the Successful Hypnotherapy Training Course.

This course has been running since 1981, and has launched literally thousands of hypnotherapists into successful private practice, myself included!

One thing that sets this course head-and-shoulders above the rest is the sheer level of help and support that students and therapists receive, not only during study, but all through the therapist’s career.

However, this support aside, we would say the main reason for choosing the Successful Hypnotherapy Training Course, is that it is the ONLY course that teaches far more than just hypnotherapy…  because it trains you in ‘Pure’ Hypnoanalysis.

Pure Hypnoanalysis

‘Pure’ Hypnoanalysis is a unique therapy, developed over many years, which is far more effective in helping people, and resolving their problems, than ‘traditional’ hypnotherapy.

‘Pure’ Hypnoanalysis offers the client much more than the ‘temporary’ relief from a symptom that ‘traditional’ hypnotherapy offers, it seeks to resolve the root cause of the problem, thereby giving that person a complete and lasting resolution to their symptom.

The members of the International Association of ‘Pure’ Hypnoanalysts are the ONLY therapists qualified in the use of this incredibly successful form of therapy.

The International Association of Pure Hypnoanalysts

The Successful Hypnotherapy Training Course is the only course that can qualify you to join the IAPH.  Membership of the IAPH in itself brings with it a whole host of benefits that other hypnotherapy associations often lack.

Members of the IAPH not only enjoy the unparalleled levels of support offered by the organisation, they also benefit from personal support (supervision) as well as an opportunity to continue to train to an extremely high level through continuing professional development in the form of courses and seminars.

The course director, Rob Kelly FIAPH, is always on hand to answer any questions that a student or therapist may have, there is a thriving and friendly online support group, and there is ample opportunity to meet with other therapists.

Many therapists in the IAPH, myself included, will tell you that the association brings with it a ‘family’ feel…  there are always plenty of people to turn to if you want to talk about something, whether online, or in person.  There is an active social element to IAPH membership, where you can ‘let your hair down’ and talk to other therapists…  whether it be at a regional meeting, in the bar at a seminar, or at the Christmas party!

The Successful Hypnotherapy Training course is a unique course that not only teaches you to use a wonderful therapy, it’s far more than that... it gives you access to the levels of help, support, camaraderie and ‘family atmosphere’ that is truly second to none.

If you have any questions about the course, or would like more information about the hypnotherapy training course that’s not shown, please contact me at paul@avonhypnotherapy.co.uk, and I'll be glad to help…  and hopefully I’ll see you soon!
